WASABI Platform

Global sustainable development is at the core of Veolia’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Each day, we work towards the fair distribution of resources in our communities and conserving them for future generations.

Vision for 2020

Veolia has set nine commitments with 12 indicators to be reached by 2020 in order to advance our CSR objectives. These objectives focus on supporting sustainable development in three key areas: Resourcing the Planet, Resourcing the Regions, and People Social Performance.

Sharing of Best CSR Initiatives: WASABI Platform

Collaboration at every level of the organisation is key to achieving our CSR ambitions. To this end, Veolia’s dedicated internal system, WASABI (Wide Access and Sharing Platform for Best Initiatives in Asia), centralises and disseminates the best CSR initiatives from our operations across Asia.

From projects that reduce water and carbon footprint, to human resources programmes that promote gender diversity in our workforce, the Best Initiatives are innovative strategies that have been successfully implemented and brought improvements to one of our sites, projects or processes. They are contributed by Veolia offices throughout the region and cover the scope of Communication, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Customer Service (CS), Finance, Health and Safety (H&S), Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT), and Technical & Performance (T&P).

Company-wide participation

Veolia values its employees and encourages everyone, from all levels and lines of business, to showcase successful initiatives from their local teams on the WASABI platform. Each quarter, our management reviews all submitted initiatives and selects the ones that best reflect our commitment and capabilities.

In short, the WASABI platform allows our employees to synergise best practices company-wide, replicating successes and magnifying the benefits to communities where Veolia operates.
